How's it going my gumdrops? Over these last 2 years or so, I have mentioned countless times and briefly explained why the "Horror" page is restricted here on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns.
ONLY members can view my "Horror" page. Why is it restricted to only members?
1) Just think about it: It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns is for ADULTS 18-53. I'm not trying to satisfy anyone under the age of 18 years old because I do NOT want or need someone's helicopter mom throwing her temper tantrums and blaming me about my content being "too dark," "trashy," "offensive," or whatever critics want to label it.
2) Security: I have samples of my unpublished work, that is on my "Horror" page and do NOT want people plagiarizing it. Over the last several years, I have dealt with my share of copycat bloggers on Blogster and some other sites. It's flattering, that I have managed to influence a few over the years.
However, I have ZERO respect for those who take other writers' content, pass it off as their own, and do NOT give the original writer(s) any credit for their hard work. Those "writers" lack originality, innovation, and are desperate for ideas.
I ALWAYS try giving someone or something credit, whenever credit is due.
Amateur writers need to be more like monkey see, monkey innovate vs monkey see, monkey do. Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines innovate as "to do something in a new way" or "to have new ideas about how something can be done."
Notice that I quoted Merriam-Webster's Dictionary and gave the dictionary credit.
3) Most Horror is meant for adults: This is somewhat similar to answer number 1. Even though some Horror movies are meant for children and teenagers, movies that are rated R, NC-17, as well as X-rated are not.
As of right now, I don't have anything along the lines of NC-17 or X. Although, some of the samples I posted on the "Horror" page has some "disturbing" content. The "Horror" page may seem a little tame right now, but the stories aren't. There are also images from Flickr, that I shared to the "Horror" page, in order to help set the tone for the short stories I wrote.
4) Incentive: It is an incentive for visitors to join for free. Everything that is on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns is FREE.
The ONLY catch is becoming a member, in order to view my "Horror" page whereas most of my blogs are public; Not all of my blogs are public.
Hopefully, this gives visitors better explanations as to why there are restrictions on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns.
Thank you my gumdrops! Don't forget to like, subscribe, share, +1 on Google Plus, and leave your feedback in the comments section below!
