Cartoon Sunday: Revisiting Richard Williams' Adaptation Of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol
|
How's it going my gumdrops? MERRY CHRISTMAHANUKKAH!!! Yesterday, I forgot to mention, that I reached a total of 102 Google Plus followers on Wednesday! Thank you so much! It makes me really happy to see that more of you have been enjoying the content here on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns. It would make me happier if more of you left your feedback in the comments section below each blog.
I talk to some of you on social media. Whenever I return to It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns HOURS later (typically the late afternoons to early evenings to be more specific), I respond to your comments. Some of you already know, that I spend all night throughout the early morning blogging.
Lately, I have been dosing off in my dining room chair, while blogging. After I am finished publishing these blogs in the morning, I share them around social media.
If some of you respond early on Google Plus, I will respond back. Then, I go to bed and start the afternoon or evening, all over again. This is besides doing household chores in-between. Regardless, I still respond to all my subscribers. The responses may not always be immediate, but I always try responding back on here and social media.
Do you happen to have any holiday plans, aside from all that has been said?
Since no one in our family wants to go through all the hard work of cooking, cleaning, and slaving away in the kitchen and around the house for 2 pretentious, self-serving, attention whores in our immediate family, we will be ordering our meals from a few restaurants. This especially works for me.
I will most likely be trying to sleep in. This is along with watching the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood Marathon on Toonami and opening Christmas presents. I would've uploaded the show's Toonami Promo for this marathon, but it appears that Webs is experiencing problems uploading this promo. Therefore, you can watch it right here.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood Marathon starts tomorrow night at 12-3:30am/11pm-2:30am Central on Adult Swim's Toonami.
As I was saying at the start of this week, there is nothing festive about this Toonami marathon. Although, I will take a marathon of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood over the most recent Toonami acquisitions anyday.
While we are on the topic of animation, this is an early Cartoon Sunday for Christmas Day. Last week, I updated another blog about a rare gem, animation wise. Because it has been ~2 years, since I last shared this particular Cartoon Sunday blog, it is being re-shared today.
This is a rare gem, that I NEVER had the opportunity to see, when I was growing up. Supposedly, Richard Williams' animated adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol was meant for adults because it has horror elements to it.
I can't help having an appreciation for this animated adaptation of A Christmas Carol. The illustrations look really authentic, in regards to hand drawn animation. Not only do I have an immense appreciation for this adaptation, but also consider it to be an overlooked classic.
Considering how much time has changed and the quality of animation has evolved over the last 4 decades or so, it wouldn't hurt if a network tried re-airing Richard Williams' animated adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
A Christmas Carol has been remade God knows how many times in different forms of plays, musicals, live action movies, cartoons, etc.
Why not air such a rare animated adaptation of A Christmas Carol like this adaptation in particular?
Maybe someone should suggest it to a network. Rather than bore you to death with this topic, let's revisit Richard Williams' animated adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol in the following link, for this festive Cartoon Sunday.

I hope you enjoy your holiday(s)! Thank you my gumdrops! Don't forget to like, subscribe, share, +1 on Google Plus, and leave your feedback in the comments section below!
