How's it going my gumdrops? Like I said in last Saturday's blog, I tried making the most out of my birthday. In case you missed my blog from last Saturday, it was a blog rant about the ridiculousness of publicly shaming people online.
In that same blog, I shared some of my personal experiences with being publicly shamed by Adult Swim's trolls.
It was already difficult to celebrate my birthday this year because my birthday from last year left me with a lingering bad taste in my mouth. Generally speaking, 2017 is starting to rival 2016, when it comes to adversity for some of us.
Last year was chaotic and highly disappointing. However, this year for my 35th birthday, it started out badly by waking up with a throbbing sinus headache.
Then, I turned on my TV hoping to see pets from the humane society only to discover, that a homicidal maniac tried to assassinate Republican congressmen. How's that for having a milestone birthday?
Also, it was getting ready to storm. Luckily, it stormed a little after we left from having lunch at Genghis Khan Mongolian B.B.Q. & Chinese.
Despite the terrorist attacks and the assassination attempt on our congressmen, Adult Swim trolls strategizing ways of how to sabotage my birthday week, storms triggering my sinuses, and my grandmother instigating political fights and laying guilt trips, I managed to survive my birthday.
I cannot help reiterating how difficult it was to plan my birthday celebration, this year. Normally, I have 2 birthday parties (1 with family and 1 with friends).
Because money has been tight and there have been other friends and relatives from states away battling Cancer, it really made it difficult to have fun celebrating my 35th birthday.
Some of you may be curious about the birthday presents, that were given to yours truly. ~ 1-2 weeks before my birthday, my family bought me a new mattress and a memory foam cushion to go on top of it.
On my birthday, they gave me money, which I have yet to actually spend because they keep BORROWING it.
Also, they bought me some clothes, a new pair of ankle boots, a curling iron, a cell phone/wallet case, a battery-operated electric shaver, and a TURQUOISE tray.
Even though I made out like a bandit with decent birthday presents, there are STILL a few more supplies I need to buy. When saying that, I do NOT mean clothes. I have so many, I cannot close my closets, armoire, dresser, and bed drawers. If ANYTHING, I need to buy more personal care supplies and yard work attire.
All in all, my birthday week and birthday had brutal starts to them yet I still made out like a bandit with some decent presents for turning 35. Hopefully, when I turn 36 next year, my birthday won't have so much chaos. Anyway...
