How's it going my gumdrops? Originally, I meant for today's Song Saturday blog to be about Rock City Morgue. After giving it more thought, I've chosen to make this blog about bassist, Sean Yseult.
Last month, you may recall that I published a Song Saturday blog about the Horror Groove Metal band, White Zombie. After publishing that blog, Leaf Pile from Leaf Pile Radio asked if I wanted to interview Sean Yseult from White Zombie. The next thing I knew, an interview was already being arranged.
I haven't exactly interviewed her yet because I had no idea what our schedules were going to be like. April and May have been extremely hectic months for me, since 1/2 my family's birthdays are in both April and May. Also, Mother's Day was last Sunday.
Now, there have been unexpected events that have thrown monkey wrenches into my own plans at the last minute. You may be wondering to yourselves, "Sooo... are you gonna interview Sean or what?"
Yes, I will be interviewing Shauna Reynolds a.k.a. "Sean Yseult." I already typed 12 questions to ask her. Leaf Pile already sent my questions to Shauna's publicist.
We are currently aiming for a telephone conference interview on 5/24/16.
Hopefully, this schedule is doable for all 3 of us. I have been withholding the news about this, since last month because I wanted to wait for it to come to fruition.
Last month, I already told a few friends and shared the news about it on Adult Swim's message board. Some people are happy for me whereas some have been evil eyeing and trying to jinx me. The pressure is on. I am somewhat apprehensive but at the same time excited to interview the former bassist of White Zombie.
There's always this joke about bassists in Rock bands being irrelevant or something along those lines. However, I have to somewhat disagree. There is a lot that most people don't know about Sean Yseult. She was the co-founder of White Zombie.
In addition to being White Zombie's bassist and co-founder, Shauna has artistic abilities. Over 1/2 year ago, the bassist debuted her own art exhibit in N.Y.C.

Sean Yseult is mostly known as "The Chick from White Zombie" for all those, who religiously watched MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head, during the 1990's. In fact, White Zombie hails Beavis and Butt-Head for making them famous.
Beavis said MTV needed to play White Zombie's music videos more often and the network listened.
After White Zombie disbanded circa 1998, Rob Zombie became a soloist and Sean Yseult eventually became the bassist for several other bands. Shauna became the bassist and pianist for Rock City Morgue, The Famous Monsters, and now Star & Dagger.
Sean Yseult is immensely talented. Before I forget, I want to mention that she designs her own scarves at Yseult Designs. It would be fantastic if more people knew about Shauna's other talents.
Even though Rob Zombie is best known as the vocalist/founder of White Zombie, I believe that his fame overshadows his bandmates from the past and present.
It is more understandable that Rob always has the spotlight on him because he was always White Zombie's frontman/music video director. This was before he became a Horror "filmmaker." I have never interacted with Rob Zombie.
Throughout the mid to late '90s as a teenager, I used to be a Rob Zombie fan girl. After reaching my 20's, I grew up and realized how much he and his content have changed over the decades.
The more I think about it now, the more I believe that most of the bandmates from White Zombie have been overlooked, especially Sean Yseult. While brainstorming questions for my interview, I tried making my questions as unique as possible.
To list some examples, I will be asking Shauna about why she goes by "Sean Yseult" rather than Shauna Reynolds, the struggles that she faces as an artist/musician, if there will EVER be a White Zombie Reunion, and her impressions of Adult Swim's Metalocalyspe. Those are only 4 of the 12 questions, that I will be asking.
Meanwhile, I thought I would share a live concert performance of Rock City Morgue. So far, I love their song, "Carry It With You." I tried finding an actual music video for the song but had no such luck.
Anyway, here are 2 music videos featuring bassist Sean Yseult. 1 from Rock City Morgue and a classic from White Zombie for today's Song Saturday.
1) Rock City Morgue "Carry It With You"/ "Disconnected" [LIVE] The Boy Who Cried Werewolf LP (2010)
2) White Zombie "Thunder Kiss '65" La Sexorcisto Devil Music Vol. 1 (1992)
