How's it going my gumdrops? Without a doubt, some of you have been patiently waiting and wondering where I have been.
I CANNOT help reiterating how abnormal and chaotic this 1/2 year has been for me, so far both on and offline. Constantly backburning It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns for WEEKS has never happened, until these last 2 months. I cannot believe June is pretty much over.
Since the middle of May, I have been to job seminars and submitted my resume and job applications. This was also during the same time, when I was doing my interview with bassist, Sean Yseult. Companies have been calling me so much for interviews, that I have barely had much time to sleep.
In fact, these last 2 weeks, there was a local marketing company, that kept forcing me to reschedule my job interview THRICE. The constant rescheduling, especially last week forced me to halt my birthday plans with family because the company's receptionist acted like an incompetent flake. Supposedly, she gave me the wrong date for this past Monday's job interview.
After having to reschedule that job interview 3 times, I'm not making that particular company top priority. Within 2 more days, I have another job interview with another company. Hopefully, this next job interview will go swimmingly well. Otherwise, the job hunting will continue.
Speaking of my birthday earlier, I am sure you are all very curious to know what I got from both family and friends, last week. Last week, my family bought me beauty and cosmetic supplies, blouses, a Native American necklace, bracelet, and a skirt set.
The necklace is made out of white gold and has feathers on it whereas the bracelet has a dagger on it. The blouse to my skirt set has fringes to it. Also, I got a raincoat and some cash.
As far as friends go, I celebrated my birthday last Saturday with a few college friends, that I haven't seen, since my graduation. It had literally been an entire decade, since we all last spent time together. Because 1 of my friends' birthdays is literally 1 week after mine, I suggested having a birthday combo celebration. My birthday is on June 14th and hers is actually TODAY.
She, her husband, and son traveled from Whitewater, WI and our guy friend traveled from IL to my town to celebrate our birthdays together. We ate lunch and exchanged birthday presents at Maggiano's. As for birthday gifts, I got a custom made choker with chains and skulls on it and a black Tokyo Ghoul T-shirt.
Then, we all went to Hart Park where all the craziness ensued. We were there for several hours, until our friend and her family became tired and safely drove home.
All the while, our guy friend and I stayed out a tad longer. He wanted to order dinner so that he would not have to drive back home to IL on an empty stomach. Therefore, we drove to The Cheesecake Factory. He ordered a dinner and I ordered Tex Mex Egg Rolls, which was an appetizer.
In case your "enquiring minds want to know," this was NOT date. If anything, it was more like the old times, when we used to have lunch and dinner in our cafeteria at Carthage College, years ago. The only differences being, that we both happened to be two 30-somethings eating dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and catching up on the last 10 years.
The more I think about it, the more I miss parts of being in my early to mid-20's again.
Meanwhile, I was dumbfounded to see the amount of birthday wishes I got on Adult Swim's forum. It is quite remarkable, that I got MORE birthday wishes on a cartoon message board (where my user name and reputation are constantly drug through the mud) than on my OWN facebook account. That's just messed up, right there.
I went back online last night and saw, that my birthday thread on Adult Swim has more than 2,000 views. That's A LOT of views. Then again, I have been a seriously controversial topic, since the time I originally joined Adult Swim's forum, nearly 2 years ago.
Since we are now on the topic of Adult Swim and because I haven't published any Song Saturday or Cartoon Sunday blogs over these last few weeks, it's only fair to do a Song Saturday/Cartoon Sunday Combo.
An Adult Swim friend, who not only made my birthday thread, but is also a gumdrop of mine chose to share the music video titled, "The Gears" from Metalocalypse. With that being said, here is Dethklok's "The Gears" for a Song Saturday/Cartoon Sunday Combo.
