Song Saturday: If "All Of Chastity's Men" Had A Soundtrack [Part 1]

Posted by Anna H. on February 15, 2014 at 9:10 AM

How's it going my gumdrops? I have not been as talkative online these last several days, especially yesterday.

Like I said in the other blog I published earlier this morning, my crooked cop ex and several other exes are the driving forces behind me writing "All Of Chastity's Men."

As I have said in the past, I started writing this story last winter. I've backburned it several times because I was busy with work and other obligations.

Since I am no longer working, I have been backburning this story again because of managing this site, trying to generate traffic to it, and dealing with other people's personal issues.

Last night, I began working on "All Of Chastity's Men," again. If I can ever get this story published, that would be fantastic.

After I took a break from writing the story last night, I began exercising.

While spending 30 minutes on the elliptical, I thought about working on this Song Saturday blog.

What if "All Of Chastity's Men" had a soundtrack?

Today's Song Saturday is a different concept. Imagine if "All Of Chastity's Men" had a soundtrack. I have mostly Rock and some Pop this week.

WARNING: If you listen to VAST and Olivia Lufkin, you might start crying, especially for VAST. I always found VAST's song, "Flames" to be a tear jerker.

1) Carly Simon "You're So Vain" (1972)

2) Soft Cell "Tainted Love Cover"/"Where Did Our Love Go?" (1981)

You should try listening to VAST, P!nk, and Olivia Lufkin. I think you might like their songs, too.

Relationships have always been the bane of my existence, instead of being the loving, warm, caring emotional pillows that they should be...at least part of the time. I'm only 43 but I guess those days are over for me now. You see, I became ill with E.S.R.D a few years ago and it put a strain on my relationship of 10 years. I've had 4 wonderful, beautiful children, 3 boys and a girl, with this woman but the illness took it's toll on every aspect of my life. We finally married after being together for 8 years after I had a respiratory failure. We never intended to enter into marriage because we felt we DIDN'T need it and that our feelings for each other were strong enough AND so if anything ever happened to me she would be able to legally handle my final situation. We separated two years ago She became severely depressed and had a nervous breakdown from dealing with all the physical and emotional trauma that had been going on with me. I did the best I could to take care of her and the children but in the end the more I did for them the more ill I became. Taking care of them I neglected myself. No support from family or friends it was a sinking ship that finally sunk when child proactive services showed up at our door and removed the children under a "general neglect" issue. My wife was mental and I was just to sick to handle anything any more. Another years worth of court and legal issues ensued and in the end I lost the kids, her and everything of my old life. Funny how people refuse to let go of the past and things that are familiar to them. It seems we grasp for straws to keep from drowning in the sea of fate and cling to the last vestige of all that we know in the face of change. I am no longer afraid of change. whatever change that my be. Life, death, evolution, birth, love, depression, hate, sorrow, happiness..... at this point it's all relative. I wear myself like a comfortable old coat.

Wow! That's terrible. I know stress can cause major illnesses. I was sick throughout most of my 20's from a menstrual bleeding disorder. When I was 23 and 24 years old, I bled and clotted 24/7 for the first 1/2 of 2006. It was so bad, I became anemic, lost 1/2 my blood platelets, and wore sweatshirts in 90-degree weather. That's how sick I was. I was supposed to study abroad in Japan my last college semester but I couldn't because I was sick.

Then, months after I was at my sickest, my mother started having seizures. I'm doing much better than I was 8 years ago. However, my family and I have to worry about my mother. Even though she seems fine, we worry about her whenever she's gone to the store for long periods of times. We're always scared that she might have a seizure and cause a car accident behind the wheel. Sometimes my mother sneaks out the house, while we're sleeping. Then, we have to worry about my mother wanting to go to the store late in the evening because there's always car accidents happening on our street.

Anyway, I'm really sorry about all your losses. I know that's really hard for you, since you had a family. Now, they're gone and your family is destroyed. I hope you get a chance to spend time with your kids again.

Did you know that Marilyn Manson covered both "You're So Vain" and "Tainted Love"? Speaking of "Tainted Love," it was originally a 1960's song, that Soft Cell covered in 1981. Well, I'm glad you liked most of these songs. :) It's so hard trying to find music, that most people will like on my playlist.

I knew you would probably like L7. As for "You're So Vain," I always liked it by Carly Simon. :)
