Cartoon Sunday: Ghost Hunt
|
How's it going my gumdrops? Last week, I learned that American Dad will no longer be airing on Fox. WTH? The cartoon has been a part of the network's lineup, since 2005.
Starting October 20th, American Dad will NOW be airing on Monday nights at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central on TBS.
I wouldn't have a major problem with the relocation had it been relocated to Adult Swim. I watch Adult Swim at least twice a week (mostly on Saturday and Sunday nights).
Since Adult Swim nightly airs American Dad, it would've been more logical to air the cartoon's premieres on Adult Swim rather than TBS.
I do NOT watch TBS regularly. Usually, I watch the network for the 24-hour marathon of A Christmas Story. I use to watch syndicated episodes of Married With Children on TBS because I missed its last few seasons, from the mid to late '90s. Otherwise, I do NOT watch TBS.
That reminds me, American Dad will now be running against Sleepy Hollow. This sucks! Now, I will have to watch newer American Dad episodes on Adult Swim in syndication.
I am sorry but right now, I love watching Ichabod on Monday nights more than American Dad. Thank you Fox, for once again screwing over your audience!
Why didn't Fox remove Bob's Burgers or The Simpsons from the block?
I stopped watching The Simpsons, before I was a teenager, and I have always HATED Bob's Burgers. Those are 2 cartoons, that can be canceled or relocated to TBS. Once Desperate Housewives ended on ABC 2 years ago, I started to regularly watch Fox for American Dad and Family Guy on Sunday nights.
Speaking of Adult Swim, I briefly visited their Toonami sub-forum and voted in some of the polls. Based on us Adult Swim voters, most of us want to watch Black Lagoon's OVA, Roberta's Blood Trail. I have already seen the OVA's. However, that does NOT mean every viewer has seen it.
Roberta is by far my favorite Black Lagoon character.
Then again, she is quite popular. This would explain why she has 5 OVA's dedicated to her. Roberta gives every character a run for their money, including Revy. Oh, how I love Roberta. I can't STAND Revy!

Here's something I've been meaning to ask my gumdrops. I have been trying to decide, if I should post Anime in Japanese for Cartoon Sunday. There are some really nit picky Anime fans, who only watch them in Japanese with English subtitles. Then, they are those, who will only watch Anime in English.
Do you prefer to watch Anime in Japanese or in English?
I watch them both in English and in Japanese. If it's poorly dubbed in English, I will only watch the Anime in Japanese with English subtitles. Anyway, I have an English dubbed episode of Ghost Hunt.
Ghost Hunt is a Shojo Psychological Supernatural Horror Mystery Drama Anime. It begins with high school freshman, Mai Taniyama and her friends exchanging ghost stories. While she and her friends exchange ghost stories, they are introduced to Kazuya Shibuya.
Kazuya is the 17-year-old, Paranormal Researcher/Manager of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center. He, a few psychic mediums, and exorcists are sent by Mai's high school principal to investigate an allegedly haunted school building.
While they investigate the haunted building, Mai ends up getting into a dangerous situation. A bookcase nearly falls on her. Kazuya's taciturn assistant, Lin Koujo rescues Mai.
Lin becomes incapacitated in the process by the falling bookcase, and she accidentally destroys their expensive camera equipment.
Since he is incapacitated and because Mai destroyed their expensive equipment, Kazuya makes Mai repay her debt by making her work for his company. Mai later nicknames him "Naru."
"Naru" is her short Japanese nickname for Kazuya, which means "narcissistic."
Rather than explaining the entire beginning episode, here's the link to Ghost Hunt in English.

I can't read Japanese so I need English but I don't care if there's Japanese on the screen too.
Married with Children eh? That was my favorite show for a long time. I identified with Al and watching that helped get me through years of hell hole factory work. I recorded every single episode on VHS. I watch American Dad and Sleepy Hollow too. I didn't think I'd like Sleepy Hollow in the beginning but it grew on me and now I'm seeing parallels in it to the Zionist intentions of taking control of America since its beginnings. I wonder if that's intentional or just happenstance. Bobs Burgers is like the worst show ever, fer cryin out loud.
I doubt Adult Swim will bother acquiring the rights to Ghost Hunt because it has "Shojo" on the label rather than "Shonen" or "Seinen." I swear, The Adult Swim Team must be gynophobic, when it comes to airing Anime titles specifically for the female audience. I think both genders would enjoy watching Ghost Hunt even though it's marketed toward the female audience.
Meanwhile, I'm still reeling over the fact, that Bob's Burgers is still airing on TV yet Fox made sure to cancel Sit Down, Shut up years ago. At least Sit Down, Shut Up was funny compared to Bob's Burgers.
Well I'm the evil gender and I enjoy Shojo. Hahaha.
I don't recall ever hearing of Sit Down, Shut Up, musta been during my work days.
Meanwhile, Sit Down, Shut Up aired on Fox years before Bob's Burgers was created. It was really controversial. I'm amazed that Adult Swim didn't acquire the rights to Sit Down, Shut Up. I never had the chance to watch the last episode because I ended up going to dinner with my family on Mother's Day, years ago.
I googled Sit Down, Shut Up, it was on when I was laid off from the recession and I had plenty of time for tv. I went in the hospital for congestive heart failure then and was worried about my survival because of the economic conditions so maybe I did see it and just don't remember due to all the stress.
On another note, Sit Down, Shut Up was funny. I'm still amazed that Adult Swim never acquired the rights to it. They've always bought canceled cartoons, that were too controversial for local networks.
Yesterday I tried to find Sit Down, Shut Up on youtube and there are only a couple of very short clips there. I found it on a site called animetoon but couldn't get it to play. Tried again just now and it's playing. They have all the episodes. In case you didn't see the last episode later, here's the link http://www.animetoon.tv/sit-down-shut-up.
