How's it going my gumdrops? On Sunday, I was amazed by the number of readers, that enjoyed the latest Cartoon Sunday blog. My Cartoon Sunday blog in regards to He-Man and She-Ra received quite a few likes and +1's. That is really not bad at all. I wonder how many readers want more Cartoon Sunday blogs based on 1980's nostalgia.
I'm sure most of you have been questioning my reasons for publishing Song Saturday and Cartoon Sunday blogs. Growing up, I have always enjoyed music and animation. That's along with writing my own poems and short stories.
Because I spend so much of my time on the Internet now and I've been blogging on and off over the last 10 years, publishing blogs related to entertainment and being informative somewhat go together. It's mostly through the perspective of someone with a history and lifestyle of enjoying music and animation. This is in addition to writing.
I believe that I have a better connection with mostly Generation X regarding entertainment and lifestyles as opposed to Baby Boomers and Generation Y (Millennials).
Generation X was more about individuality, multi-culturalism, and being more apolitical. These have ALWAYS been a few of my favorite things.
Meanwhile, Baby Boomers and Millennials are TOO political and try to be political activists about EVERYTHING. Animation is the most I can identify with Millennials. Even that can be a struggle.
With that being said, I believe animation and music have the ability to unite both Generations X and Y. They can explore and find appreciation in both forms of entertainment.
When it comes to Generation X, music influenced fashion, lifestyle, and other forms of entertainment. They were also filled with angst, while viewing the world for what it really was; they did NOT avert their eyes to the truth and needed ZERO coddling.
Politics and attention whoring on social media sites are ridiculously "trendy" with Generation Y. This is something I absolutely loathe. Being "political activists" and needing to have a gajillion selfies uploaded to social media sites ad nauseam is pretentious as well as self-righteous.
Everyone is NOT a winner, star, or a political activist, which is something they have been brainwashed into believing.
This is especially when delusional posers work shitty part-time jobs with meager earnings. Even though I have worked in entertainment, met a few celebrities and public/political figures at some point in my life, I am still NOT a star.
Not that every Millennial is an attention-whoring political activist, but these types give us apolitical individualists more reasons to avoid them like the plague. Being political was NEVER a part of my lifestyle growing up and continues NOT to be.
BTW: I'm a 30-something-year-old woman. Technically speaking, I'm old enough to have my own 14-year-old.
On Blogger, I published a blog last year explaining what generation I belong to and how I was raised.
With that being said, my Song Saturday and Cartoon Sunday blogs are seen as more of a break from politics and attention whoring with selfies. My goal is to be entertaining and informative, which is typically accompanied with some of my ranting.
Ranting is ONLY 1 flaw, that I possess.
Moving along, today is the last day for Christmas. In case you did NOT already know, Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas on January 7th. Most of us celebrate it on December 25th. Anyway, here are some of the Christmas-themed blogs, that I have published over the last 3 years.
