Song Saturday: Others' Heart Of Darkness

Posted by Anna H. on October 21, 2017 at 6:35 AM

How's it going my gumdrops? Some of you may be wondering why I didn't share this much sooner. Over this summer, I managed to come across this lyrical video by the Gothic Horror band, Others. Others is mostly a Horror-Punk band.

Throughout these last 3 years, I have shared some of Others' songs. In addition, I have been sharing SOME of my previous October blogs around social media for those, who may have missed them within the last 1-3 years.

For Throwback Thursday, I re-shared a Song Saturday blog, which featured Others. However, I can't believe I overlooked the band's lyrical video, "Heart Of Darkness." "Heart Of Darkness" was recorded for the 2015 film, Tales Of Dracula.

The producer of Tales Of Dracula shot the 2015 film in black and white, in order to give it that Classic Horror appearance and is in tribute to Universal Studios' Dracula.

What is Tales Of Dracula (2015) about?

Tales Of Dracula is about the king of vampires (that being Dracula) returning to his native soil and his castle in the Carpathian Mountains, which is in Romania. Dracula returns to regain his strength.

While being in the Carpathian Mountains, The Dark Prince hunts for a new bride to do his bidding. Dracula chooses a farmer's daughter to be his new bride.

Henry Frankenstein's granddaughter (Victoria) on the other hand, strategizes how she can use the infected blood of Dracula's new bride to rejuvenate the Monster by mixing the vampire's blood with the Monster's. After Dracula discovers he has been betrayed, he swears vengeance.

Tales Of Dracula is on DVD for ~$6.00, if memory serves me right.

Meanwhile, you may be wondering about Others' song, "Heart Of Darkness." Their song made me say to myself, "This would be great to share in October."

What is the song, "Heart Of Darkness" about?

As I was told by Lord Marquis DeBlood, earlier this week, "Heart Of Darkness" was inspired by Francis Ford Coppola's version of Dracula. After Dracula's wife dies, he begins to denounce God.

Who sang the lyrics for "Heart Of Darkness"?

Marquis DeBlood wrote the lyrics and composed "Heart Of Darkness" with the help of Jeff DaBella. Lord Marquis' wife, Mistress Jessica sang the lyrics. She most definitely has beauty and talent. I cannot help commending them for creating such an artistic piece.

If you have your own personal Halloween Music Playlist, you should most definitely add Others' song, "Heart Of Darkness" to it. It is definitely a song worth listening to for Halloween. "Heart Of Darkness" has a very calm yet dark mood.

Since today's blog is in tribute to Dracula, here is "Heart Of Darkness" by the band, Others for today's Song Saturday.
