Song Saturday: Siouxsie And The Banshees

Posted by Anna H. on February 28, 2014 at 6:40 AM

How's it going my gumdrops? More recently I have decided, that I will no longer participate in Blogster's Song Saturday Tours. When someone's not nit picking or complaining, Blogsterians will ostracize younger bloggers, including me.

Blogsterians are mostly toxic and attention seeking, Baby Boomers instigating fights. Otherwise, I have to deal with some Blogsterians sugar coating their comments, only to spare my feelings. I do NOT have the time, energy, and/patience to keep dealing with that bullshit on Blogster.

I have stopped participating in Blogster's Song Saturday Tours and have chosen to adopt Song Saturday, recently. Song Saturday is a fun concept.

Now, that I no longer particpate in the tours, I have LESS pressure on my shoulders because I am posting whatever I want. If most Blogsterians don't like it, tough shit. Obviously, most don't care about anything I share on Blogster.

The constant he said, she said drama and overall blog wars take precedence over learning more about interesting bloggers and topics. From now on, I will send out e-mail notifications and share my links on Writers Cafe, Horror-Punks, and Vivaldi. This is along with sharing on a few Blogsterian subscribers' pages. Some subscribers genuinely care.

As you may have noticed, the background on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns was recently changed. I chose to go green, since Saint Patrick's Day is around the corner. So far, I have received positive feedback about this green background.

It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns may stay green, until May or June. Then, I will do some more experimentation.

I am doing Song Saturday early. We're supposed to be getting some more snow tonight and I will be too busy watching Grimm on NBC and the MMA's on AXS TV. MMA's stands for Mixed Martial Arts. It is nothing like the fake wrestling, that most people enjoy watching on TV. (As usual, I digress.)

This Song Saturday will be a triple dose of Siouxsie And The Banshees. They are an old Alternative Post-Punk New Wave Goth Rock band from the late 1970's to 80's. These 4 kooks were originally from London, England.

It is surprising that most people do NOT know about Siouxsie And The Banshees. They highly influenced many bands and artists over several decades.

Siouxsie And The Banshees highly influenced Shirley Manson from Garbage, The Cure, U2, Tricky, Massive Attack, Jane's Addiction, Depeche Mode, Sonic Youth, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, PJ Harvey, LCD Soundsystem, and TV On The Radio.

This is only a short list. I'm giving you a triple dose of my favorite Siouxsie And The Banshees songs. These first 2 songs from their album, A Kiss In The Dreamhouse released months, after I was a new born.

Out of "Cascade," "Melt," and "Scarecrow," I don't know which song I like the best. Anyway, here's some Siouxsie And The Banshees:

1) Siouxsie And The Banshees "Cascade" A Kiss In The Dreamhouse [1982]

Siouxsie Sioux was probably 1 of Lana's musical influences.
