How's it going my gumdrops? I know this Cartoon Sunday entry is very soon, since I just posted Song Saturday: Maynard James Keenan not too long ago. I just finished watching Blue Exorcist on Adult Swim. In case you forgot, Cartoon Network's Stuart Snyder will resign as the president at the end of this month. Everyone is still rejoicing, while steady questioning, if the next Cartoon Network President will be any better or worse than him. We as viewers hope the next president will be better than Stuart Snyder. We also hope, that he/she will restore Cartoon Network as a coed, 24/7 animation channel. We can only hope for the best, now that 1 huge problem has been eliminated. LOL! With Stuart Snyder being gone in April, it may still take some time. The other Cartoon Network employees must decide what to do about Snyder's recent plans for Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and Adult Swim. I read last week, that before Stuart Snyder's resignation, he planned on re-branding Boomerang by making it more female-centric and family oriented because Cartoon Network and Adult Swim are currently male-centric. It was highly unnecessary to segregate these networks by gender. Boomerang and Cartoon Network were always coed channels. That was until Snyder became CN's president, 6 years ago. I can't completely speak for Adult Swim. However, I do know that the female demographic always watched the network regardless of whether or not we were included or excluded from Adult Swim's ratings.
The only cartoon I enjoyed within the last 6 years of Stuart Snyder's presidency at Cartoon Network was 6teen. Albeit, not every 6teen episode was aired because of the adult content. Personally, I think 6teen should be aired on Adult Swim. I'm probably the only viewer, who feels this way. Even though the Canadian cartoon is mostly geared towards Canadian teenagers, any adult can watch 6teen and find something or some character they can empathize with, while watching it. If you want to learn more about 6teen, you can read about the cartoon, characters, and episodes on Wikipedia in the link below:
Since it's Cartoon Sunday, I decided to post a rare episode of 6teen called, "It's Always Courtney, Courtney, Courtney!" In Season 1 Episode 24,
Jen's older sister, Courtney returns from college, after flunking out
her college sophomore year. Jen resents always having to be in her older
sister's shadow. Courtney is supposedly "prettier, sexier, funnier,
more fashionable, and better traveled" than Jen. This would explain The Brady Bunch
reference. LOL! Luckily for me, I never had any siblings (At least not
to my knowledge. LOL!) Although, I do know what it's like to always be
in someone else's shadow because I don't always share those same qualities as a
few people I know, in real life or cyber space. Being in someone else'
shadow is partly why I've distanced myself from a few people. Anyway,
this Cartoon Sunday will be 6teen's "It's Always, Courtney, Courtney, Courtney!"
