How's it going my gumdrops? I forgot to mention earlier this month, I had a dream about "Spider One" a.k.a. Michael Cummings from Powerman 5000. I'm still amazed at the fact, that some people (including Howard Stern) didn't and still don't know, that Spider One is Rob Zombie a.k.a. Robert Cummings' younger brother.
Powerman 5000's Spider One
I just read some dumb ass' comment on YouTube
about Spider being "Rob's nephew." LMAO! I'm not joking. I'm dead
serious. If anything, Spider One could pass as Billy Idol's long lost
son. I've known about Spider and Rob's family ties, since 1999. That
was when Powerman 5000 became popular and when MTV still aired music
When I first heard Powerman 5000 on the radio, I automatically assumed it was Rob Zombie. Once I saw Powerman 5000's music video, "When Worlds Collide," I noticed Spider One's physical resemblance to Rob. Then, I thought to myself, "Yep, he's definitely Rob's brother." In my opinion, Spider One somewhat resembles a better-looking version of Billy Idol and sounds similar to Rob Zombie with a dark and more sultry voice. LOL! Not everyone can necessarily see and hear Spider and Rob's similarities, although I can. Honestly, I had a thing for both brothers, when I was a teenager. I still say the name, "Powerman 5000," sounds like it should be the name of a vibrator. Yes, I know. I sometimes have a perverted mind. You're welcome to lock me up and throw away the key. LOL!
been years, since I've listened to any Powerman 5000. They were 1 of
the bands I used to air on my college radio show at UW-Parkside years
ago. Once I got into college, the band's sound changed. Powerman 5000
went from having a Cyberpunk/"Nu Metal" sound to having a more Punk/Hard Rock sound. It took some time getting used to their transition. However, I really
liked their song "Action," after they became more Punk/Hard Rock. A decade ago, I was shopping at Hot Topic (before the store began selling Pop Music
merchandise) and there was this cute guy
with shoulder-length black hair and glasses working at the store. He
had "Action" playing, while helping me try on 1 of the jackets, that I
to buy. I would've bought the jacket but it was too small for my breasts
and I wasn't paying $80 for a jacket, that wasn't even leather. I ended
up buying my reversible purple and black plaid skirt by Tripp,
which has pleats in it. I paid $42 dollars for it. That price was more
reasonable because it's 2 skirts into 1. I had a chance to shop and talk
to the cute guy waiting on me, which were perks. Too bad he didn't ask
me out but oh well. LOL!
You'll have to excuse my girlish memories in the previous paragraph. Getting back to my dream, I can't exactly remember
everything about it. I knew I should've done a dream journal about it,
sooner! Oh well, better luck next time. LOL! Yesterday, I went onto dreammoods.com for a dream analysis. I searched the words, "band," "rock star," and "singer." According to my research, this is what dreammoods.com had to say:
Band- "To see a band or play with a band in your dream represents a sense of community and belonging. The dream may also be a pun on banding together and need for cooperation/unity."
Rock Star- "To dream that you are a rock star indicates your desire to be looked up to. You want to be admired and wanted. Perhaps you are lacking a sense of belonging or excitement in your waking life or you want to escape the mundaneness. Alternatively, the dream maybe be a metaphor that you need to be a "rock." In other words, you need to gain a more solid footing of a situation. To see a rock star in your dream signifies the beat of your life."
Singer- "To see a famous singer in your dream represents a divine influence. It indicates harmony and glorification of the human spirit. Consider also your general impression of this singer and how those specific qualities may be triggered by someone or some situation in your waking life. "
I find these dream definitions to be somewhat interesting and true to some extent. It's very hard trying to assimilate with a group of people both on/offline, who are determined not to like me, if they're not pretending to like me. That's 1 of the main reasons why I'm more reclusive. I'm not striving to be anyone's role model. I mostly want more to like and accept me for who I am as a person, and I've grown tired of trying to please or win over the wrong demographic(s). I've started noticing this about myself these last several months of joining certain sites such as Blogster, for example. There are some really nice bloggers on the site. Meanwhile, Blogster is just as toxic as stalkbook because people such as myself start noticing, who really likes and dislikes us. It's like high school except in cyber space. I HATED high school with the exception of having better entertainment to listen to and watch. LOL!
enough of my ramblings. This Song Saturday, I have a double dose of
Classic Powerman 5000. Here's the song and music video, which made them
famous, along with the song and music video, that helped them to
Powerman 5000 "When World's Collide" Tonight the Stars Revolt! (1999)
Powerman 5000 "Action" Transform (2003)
