It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns

How's it going my gumdrops? I'm sorry for not publishing any blogs these last 2 weeks. It has been extreme chaos both on and offline. However, I did manage to change the latest scenery here on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns. I had difficulty deciding on the latest background.

Suddenly, everyone learned the tragic news about the musician, Prince dying last week. I meant to publish a Prince tribute blog, last Saturday (REST IN PURPLE, PRINCE!), but this is birthday season and Mother's Day is approaching very soon.

This is along with having to handle CYBER BULLYING on Adult Swim by a raging alcoholic with severe drug problems and his merry band of colluding flunkies.

As I was saying before, I changed the latest scenery to purple and will eventually be publishing a Prince tribute blog. I haven't decided if I will publish it this weekend or sometime next week. My current schedule is looking very unpredictable and I don't want to promise you anything. Basically, I will be playing things by ear.

Aside from those chaotic issues, there is some exciting news in the works. As much as I want to share this positive news with everyone, it is a lot better for me to wait until everything comes into fruition. Therefore, I will continue to sit on this news because there are few so-called "haters" evil eyeing and trying to jinx me, right now.

Speaking of positive news, I received a message from Daniel Nwosu Jr. He is a spoken word poet, who asked for me to share his spoken word video about the "Re-education Of Love." After receiving Daniel's message, I told him that I would share his video. He did a phenomenal job working on his spoken word poem.

Spoken word poetry has always been an art form, that I considered to be empowering as well as fascinating. In all my years of Creative Writing, I have NEVER written any spoken word poems. Old friends from high school, college, and at least 1 Creative Writing professor will tell you, that my poems were usually "dark" and "angry."

Then again, writing angry poetry was for my own catharsis, when I wasn't listening to Metal; Metal and angry poetry were my catharses, during my high school and college years. Meanwhile, writing short stories was for allowing my imagination to run wild.

Now, it is time to re-direct the attention towards this phenomenal, spoken word poet. Here is Daniel Nwosu Jr's spoken word poem, "Re-Education Of Love."
